New BSA Gold Star award announced; Expect to see you soon!
The brand new BSA Gold Star should hit the UK market soon, and we even have a price, finally.
It’s a rebirth story that’s been dragging on for quite a while; it started when Classic Legends, owned by Mahindra, bought the rights to the BSA name. Then, this India-based operation announced plans to return to the market with a brand new BSA Gold Star, in early 2021… and since then we have been waiting and waiting. The bike was supposed to be available for sale in the UK as of today, but it’s not.
Now, while we still don’t have a firm launch date, we should see one soon, as Classic Legends has finally found a distributor, they think. Company executives say they plan to work LucasCast. This company seems to have nothing in common with the legendary Lucas empire, founded on Prince of Darknessbut it’s still a name that will bring back some memories for fans of classic British motorcycles.
Initially, expect a small range of dealerships; BSA suggests rolling out fewer than 10 dealers when it launches in the UK and adding more over the next few months. Given that this brand was already supposed to launch in the UK in May, many might be frustrated by this news, but Classic Legends wants to get it right the first time.
When these bikes hit showrooms, they’ll cost £6,800 for the red/black/silver paint job, or £7,000 for the impressive “Silver Sheen Legacy Edition” (which equates to around $8,200 – $8400 USD). They will be made in India, but BSA plans to make a future electric model at a UK factory.
