Reports noted that the man was sent to the intensive care unit at Changi General Hospital (CGH).

Paramedics were seen tending to the man with a stretcher. He was transported to CGH while conscious.

However, SG Road Vigilante – SGRV said in an update that the man succumbed to his injuries around 8:20 p.m.

The 65-year-old lorry driver is currently assisting with police investigations, reported Today.

Netizens commented on the post, urging other runners to be extra careful on the road. Others wondered if more could be done for riders in the event of an accident.

“Hope Grab has at least basic insurance for these construction workers. These workers work hard, rain or shine, to put food on their table and somehow played an important role in the successful purchase of a GCB of 69 million for their CEO,” said Facebook user PS Liu.

According to Today, Grab is helping the loved ones of the deceased.

“The safety and wellbeing of our delivery partners is important to Grab, and we want to take this opportunity to remind other road users to practice safe driving habits,” the rep said./ TISG
