Armed tricycle robs and rapes female passenger at Ogun school

Men from the Ogun State Police Command arrested a 22-year-old tricycle operator for allegedly robbing and raping his female passenger.
The suspect allegedly raped the victim, robbed her of her money, put her back in the tricycle and took her to an unknown destination when he was arrested.
State Police Public Relations Officer SP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed in a statement on Wednesday.
Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested around 4 a.m. on Monday when a distress call was received by officers from Ifo Division headquarters.
The PPRO added that the victim, who boarded Iyana Coker’s tricycle in Ifo, raised the alarm that the tricycle operator was taking him to an unknown location.
He said, “Following the distress call, the DPO, Ifo Division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga quickly led his patrol team to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
“During the interrogation, the victim explained to the police that he had boarded the tricycle from the Pakoto bus stop in the direction of Iyana Coker, but the suspect suddenly pulled out a locally made gun, with which he threatened to shoot her if she did not cooperate. .
“She added that the suspect took her to Olose Primary School, Ifo, where he raped her at gunpoint.
“After raping her, the suspect also robbed her of her money before putting her back in the tricycle and started to take another direction.
“But on arriving in the Aritameje area, she saw people and raised the alarm, which led to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect confessed to the crime.
“The tricycle and a locally made pistol were recovered from him.”
