A car driver books a taxi ride to threaten the driver
Rupesh Kumar, a 25-year-old bicycle taxi driver working with an aggregator and a resident of Dr Ambedkar Nagar near Yeshwantpur Railway Station, filed a complaint with HSR Layout Police Station against an unknown auto driver for the actions aforementioned.
It is said that the automobile driver booked a ride on Kumar’s bicycle taxi, but when Kumar went to pick him up, the automobile driver threatened him by snatching his bicycle keys and demanding that he stop biking in this route from there. Kumar said the car driver also extorted 500 rupees from him.

In his complaint, Kumar said he was near Yeshwanthpur railway station, when he received an alert on his app that someone had booked a ride through HSR Layout.
Kumar rushed to HSR Layout where the location was and found a man waiting for him.
It was around 4 p.m. when Kumar arrived on the scene. The man snatched the keys to his bicycle from him and asked him why he was taking this road. When Kumar replied that he was just doing his job, the man allegedly abused and threatened him. “He then searched through my pockets and not only took Rs 500 which I had but he also took my phone, searched for the taxi driving app and deleted it,” Kumar told BM.
After confirming that the man was a car driver and noting his vehicle registration number, Kumar filed a complaint. “The car driver has been summoned to the police station, after which further legal proceedings will follow,” said a senior police officer.
