[Indiana ALR] Call for Pony Express Messengers

WE NEED PONY EXPRESS MESSENGERS

 

WE NEED AMERICAN LEGION POST SPONSORS 

TO ACT AS PONY EXPRESS STATIONS



Volunteers are asked to become Pony Express Messengers. Anyone is eligible, they don't have to belong to The American Legion nor do they have to ride a motorcycle. Simply send us your contact email address and wear your Pony Express Badge.



We ask that you also go to at least one American Legion Post in your area and ask them to sponsor the Pony Express as a Pony Express Station and send us their contact email address.  We believe that each Post should decide their own level of participation, if any, and that they work as a Pony Express Station, a home base, a collecting point for their area   To find a Post near you simply go to http://www.legion.org/?content=post_locator and follow the directions.



We are working on web sites that will allow signing up for the Pony Express. We'll keep you posted on our progress.



Attached, please find the Pony Express package of information that includes the Texas Ride Plan, sample press release, badge design, and promotional flyers for any post to use in their Pony Express planning for their local area and state. Please adopt this plan, made for Texas, to fit your particular needs. We have also included the flyers and other documents separately for ease in reproduction and use.  Only the package, as one document, need be sent out.



We believe we are setting in motion a historic project that will capture the imaginations of all Americans and impact the lives of our troops, veterans, and their families for years to come. We want you to be part of this.

Ron "Fox" Whipple (ron.whipple at sbcglobal.net) is the Texas coordinator.



Ron "Fox" Whipple (ron.whipple at sbcglobal.net) is the wholesale pin coordinator.  We have our first batch of 200 pins ordered with a two week window.  Future orders will have a ten-day turnaround and we hope to keep a number in stock.
