We would like to make all Illinois Veterans and their friends and families
aware of, and invite them to participate in a very special event in
Springfield on Thursday, May 22. There will be a special Veterans
Legislative Day in Springfield, hosted by the Illinois Senate Republican
Caucus. We are inviting Veterans from across Illinois to come to
Springfield for a day of briefings, updates from members of the Senate’s
Veterans Affairs Committee and opportunities to meet with legislators.

The event will begin with check-in from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Hall of
Flags in the Howlett Building in Springfield. The day’s program will begin
at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided for all Veterans and their guests who
RSVP by May 13. We plan to end the day with an informal reception in the
afternoon, allowing time for Veterans to return home the same day if they
choose. Directions are available on a special website that has been
established for the event: vets.ilsenategop.org.
